Snort's Special Gift
promoting a book written by a dynamic woman who has done wonderful things with kids with Autism, Asperger’s, ADD and other difficulties. Now she is sharing her family’s experience with the loss of their dog Snort and how they celebrated her life. (Yup, a girl dog named Snort)
I’d like to help her by spreading the word about this book. Please pass this on to anyone you feel may benefit from it.
Snort's Special Gift
In Dec. 2011 Duke was picked up as a stray, he had been reported as stolen by his owners over a year ago-when the shelter called the owners, they never responded-they had until 12/20/11. On Dec. 21st, Sasha Abelson with Hope 4 Animals sent out an update on Duke to announce that his hold was over at the shelter and he was offically RESCUED! He was released on a humane -he had spent the past week under the loving care of Vicki & Lori of Hands Paws & Hearts (http:''handpawshearts.rescuegroups.org/, sleeping on a big fluffy bed, eating 5 cans of wellness wet food per day, going for walks in the sun & enjoying his collection of stuffed animals. Duke went to the vet for treatment, ALL of his teeth were broken, the vet filed them down to make them smooth, he had part of his jaw bone removed that was damaged, he had fox tails removed from his gums, staples & stitches were removed, the wounds on his face were tended to and excessive scar tissue on his leg from an old wound was removed. When Sasha first saw Dukes impound photo, she did not know what to do, but she could not ignore him. Vicki & Lori rushed over the the shelter in the rain & managed to get him released on a humane foster. They did not know what to expect from this dog that had been from hell back & they almost could not believe it when he wagged his tail, jumped into the backseat of the car as though nothing had happened to him. Sasha Rose Abelson-the Adoption Coordinator with United Hope for Animals met him and he stole her heart, he is 75 lbs. of tail wagging, smiling pit bull, he can stuff 3 toys into his mouth at once, he lets puppies jump all over him, he is calm, gentle & so forgiving. He is one fo the most noble dogs Sasha has ever met. A truly rare & special soul.
Sasha sent a thank you to several people for coming to this boys rescue-Vicki, Lori, Jennifer Pryor, Patricia Raquel, Neda Rosa-without them Duke would not be here today. I have posted a picture of Duke-showing his battel scars of being attacked over & over by dogs as insane & cruel people used him for bait to train dogs to fight for their ENTERTAINMENT & GREED. Duke was lucky- thousands are not.
A word from Double D Rescue-All Animal shelters in CA. are filled to capacity with dogs like Duke-dogs FOUND, brought into the shelter-dogs used as bait, forced to fight, starved, beaten. Duke's spirit could not be broken-we humans can learn from Duke. Blessing to all of the people who helped him, saved him. A wonderful dog angel friend of mine named Tecla-handmakes wonderful warm sweaters & jackets for shelter animals-she made 2 for each of our 9 dogs plus 1 for each of our foster cats-I mailed Duke a beautiful jacket-made with love by Tecla to keep him warm.

Subject: Our Kickstarter Project - animal rescue TV Pilot.
My friend Sylva Kelegian and I have written a one hour scripted Drama (not a reality show) about the animal rescue world.
The show is called S.O.S. and we will be shooting a sizzle reel in a few weeks.
Our goal is to show the reel to the networks with the hope of turning it into a regular one hour dramatic TV series about the animal rescue world, which has never been done before.
We have put the project up on Kickstarter.com with the hopes of raising the budget to shoot.
Please take a moment to click on the link below and see a little more about the project.
There are some good incentives especially for anyone who donates $10 (we will put their dog/cat name on the credits of the Sizzle reel)

Hi Everyone, GREAT NEWS to share!!! Pass it on!!!
Meet “Blu”. He has been RESCUED!!! YAY!!!
With the power of networking, Debbie Degarmo from DoubleDRescue Ranch HeavenCanWait in the San Diego area, (who is a co-worker) has stepped up to the plate to rescue him, and Sheilah Aragon from MuttMatch Rescue has stepped up to help me pull him from the Lancaster Shelter. These 2 ladies have been wonderful!!! Thanks to both of you!!! I could not have done this without their effort and devotion!!!
I will transport him down to San Diego where he will be handed off to a wonderful lady Amanda, that has offered to foster him and potentially adopt him!!
Of course this comes with expenses that we need to raise to help with the fostering. Please help if you can…
